South of France Part 3: Villefranche-sur-Mer, Nice, Èze, Monaco, & Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat

Oh boy it's been a while.  New year's resolution: catch up with the blog before the baby is born.  If Baby arrives on schedule, that means I have until May 7th to write oh, just a kajillion or so posts recapping the last half of our travel-filled 2014.  So let's get things started, jog the memory a bit, and travel back in time to June 2014 for the long awaited final chapter of our fantastic South of France holiday...

After Cassis we took the train over to Villefranche-sur-Mer.  We spent 4 nights in this super cute fishing village along the French Riviera, and used it as a base to visit Nice, Èze, Monaco, & Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.  Our friends Christianne and Conan joined us for the last 3 nights, and we had an absolute blast livin' it up South of France style.

Villefranche-sur-Mer
Our Hotel
We stayed at Hotel Le Provençal.  If you stay here you gotta get the corner room with the double balcony.

Mya loved the room as well. Especially the closet.

The Village
We spent our time eating at the harbor side restaurants, perhaps enjoying a beverage or two (oh pre-pregnancy days how I miss thee), strolling through the narrow streets, and taking a refreshing dip in the Sea.  Our favorite restaurant was La Belle Etoile.  We ate there almost every night it was that good.  Check out the prettiness...

Where we ate breakfast on the harbor every morning.

Nice
One of the days we took a short train ride over to Nice.  Hmm, what did we do in Nice?  Well, all I remember is drinking lots of rosé all day.  It was nice.

Eh, check out the bare boobie action for yuh in the beach shower...you're welcome.

Èze
OK, now let me think...what did we do in Èze?  If I remember correctly we just took it easy (get it?), walked through town and saw the Jardin exotique d'Èze.  It had such exotic plants, like cacti.

Monaco
We also spent an evening in Monaco hoping to win big at the famous Monte Carlo Casino, however, someone (ahem...Conan) left their ID at home and even though he is clearly of legal age, we were sadly denied admission.  Thanks buddy for saving us some money!  So we headed to the bars and drank our money away instead of gambling it.  No ID required.  Yup, we kept it classy in swanky Monaco...

Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat
For the last day of our trip we went to the peninsula of St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.  Here we took a coastal walk to various rocky beaches.  It was spectacular...
