Chaido Studios: View from Patio |
Our favorite restaurant in the village -- Barriello. Great views and the owner (guy walking in photo) is very passionate about his food and wine. |
Milos has some of the coolest and most unique beaches I've ever seen (so be prepared to be bombarded with tons of pictures). To reach them you have to rent a car. Kevin was a great chauffeur and drove us around the island from one beach to the next. Our first full day in Milos was my birthday, and we celebrated by visiting five beaches.
Birthday Beach #1 - Breakfast at Pollonia (small fishing village)
Birthday Beach #2 - Seacaves of Papafragas
Drive to Sarakiniko Beach

Birthday Beach #4 - Sarakiniko
The white volcanic rocks that form the landscape of this beach make it seem as if you're spending an afternoon on the moon...
Moonwalking |
Birthday Beach #5 - Mitakas
Birthday Night in Plaka
(capital city of Milos)
Utopia Cafe -- Great spot for an aperitif with sunset view |
Where we had dinner -- To Diporto. At this point the only thing I could eat without feeling nauseous was bread, so I can't really recommend food spots from here on out. However, Kevin loved the moussaka. |
Our second full day in Milos we drove to more amazing beaches that turned out to be the favorites of the trip. Again, be prepared to be overloaded with photos. I can' t help it. It's just too hard to choose from all the prettiness.
Firopotamos
First stop on the drive was this small fisherman's bay.
Gerontas Beach
You can reach this incredible beach either by boat or a short hike. We hiked to it, and for a good while were the only people on the beach. When we left only 4 other people were there. So so beautiful.
Start of the hike not far from where you park. |
Hiking down to paradise. |
